#2025, #5g

May 13, 2025

At Teltonika, innovation is measured not by promises but by real-world performance. Platform C is the latest evolution of our network technology – a new generation System on Chip (SoC) design that delivers enhanced processing power, advanced wireless capabilities, and improved security for modern industrial applications. It addresses the growing demands of 5G connectivity, dense device environments, and the increasing need for secure, high-speed remote management.

Next-level processing power

At the heart of Platform C lies a high-frequency 2 x ARM cortex-A53 cores, offering significantly improved computational capabilities. This processing power enables the smooth operation of containerised applications such as Docker and supports a wide range of custom services without lowering performance.

Industrial networks today often require routers to handle multiple VPN tunnels, heavy firewall processing, and real-time data exchange simultaneously – our network technology is designed precisely for this!

The ability to maintain high throughput while managing multiple processes simultaneously marks a major advantage over previous hardware platforms. It allows companies to future-proof their network deployments, ensuring that their infrastructure can handle more complex tasks as operational demands increase.

Advanced wireless performance

Connectivity is no longer just about having access to the Internet – it is about maintaining high-speed, stable communication for hundreds of devices at once. Teltonika's next-generation network technology – platform C – introduces Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, operating across both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. This results in faster speeds, lower latency, and greater efficiency, even in crowded network environments.

The inclusion of a 3x3 MU-MIMO antenna setup on the 5 GHz band allows devices such as Teltonika’s RUTC50 5G router to manage up to 512 concurrent users. This is particularly valuable in deployment scenarios where many users must maintain a reliable and uninterrupted wireless connection, such as public events, logistics centres, or large manufacturing floors.

Thanks to Wi-Fi 6 enhancements, devices based on our cutting-edge network technology can allocate bandwidth more efficiently among connected devices, significantly reducing network congestion and improving user experience. Higher throughput, lower packet loss, and increased efficiency translate into tangible benefits – from smoother point-of-sale transactions to faster access to cloud-based operational systems.

Reinforced security & VPN capabilities

Industrial networks require strong security to protect against both internal vulnerabilities and external threats.

Platform C devices incorporate a hardware crypto engine that significantly boosts VPN performance. Secure tunnelling protocols such as IPsec can now operate up to five times faster compared to earlier platforms, without introducing noticeable latency.

This level of performance allows companies to run encrypted data streams over 5G or wired networks without sacrificing speed. It also ensures that firewall can operate at full efficiency, maintaining high data transfer rates even when processing complex traffic filtering rules.

The combination of improved CPU and hardware acceleration capabilities also means that network administrators can scale up their security frameworks without overburdening the router’s resources. Whether managing remote offices, industrial IoT deployments, or public access networks, the security backbone provided by our innovative network technology is built to handle future cybersecurity challenges.

Futureproofing industrial connectivity

Platform C represents more than an incremental improvement – it is a strategic leap towards futureproofing network infrastructure.

Ethernet ports on devices such as RUTC50 5G router support Gigabit speeds, ensuring that wired connections remain just as fast and stable as their wireless counterparts. Dual SIM support with auto-failover guarantees that 5G connectivity remains available, even in the event of a mobile network failure.

Moreover, the integration of GNSS location functionality opens up new opportunities for mobile deployments, such as fleet management or temporary site connectivity.

The ability to maintain real-time tracking data while supporting complex networking tasks ensures that devices built on Teltonika’s latest network technology remain versatile tools for a wide range of industries.

Designed for demanding applications

Platform C addresses specific challenges faced by industrial users. The ability to host containerised applications on-device enables more efficient data processing and lowers reliance on external servers. The high client capacity makes it suitable for dense environments like warehouses, transportation hubs, and smart city projects.

Network security features such as IPsec, WireGuard, OpenVPN, and many more, are complemented by an intelligent firewall system capable of managing complex traffic rules without bottlenecks. With the support of RutOS, users have access to an intuitive management interface, remote scripting capabilities, and detailed diagnostic tools – essential for optimising and securing critical networks.

Validated by real-world deployments

The capabilities of our advanced network technology are not limited to technical specifications – they are validated by practical deployments. One excellent example is the use of RUTC50 5G routers at pop-up auto shows, where the challenge is not only to provide connectivity but to do so at a scale that would overwhelm conventional solutions.

At these events, a massive number of devices – registration tablets, merchandise point-of-sale systems, digital signage, informational kiosks, people-counting sensors, CCTV cameras, and guest Wi-Fi devices – must be supported simultaneously.

Each device demands fast, stable Internet access, often over both wired and wireless interfaces.

By deploying RUTC50 5G routers built on Platform C, organisers were able to support up to 512 concurrent users via dual-band Wi-Fi 6. The routers’ 5G mobile connectivity, delivering high speed 5G communication, ensured that high-bandwidth applications such as real-time video surveillance and cloud data analytics operated without interruption.

The use of Remote Management System (RMS) allowed for continuous monitoring of device health and performance. Remote troubleshooting minimised downtime, while proactive alerting systems provided complete operational visibility across the network. The end result was a seamless experience for staff, vendors, and guests alike – a perfect demonstration of how high-performance hardware translates into real operational success.

C for yourself!

At Teltonika, every technological advancement is driven by a clear purpose – to enable our clients to deploy faster, smarter, and more secure network solutions. Our freshly deployed network technology, Platform C, embodies this vision through enhanced processing, superior wireless performance, robust security, and unmatched scalability, delivering real value across industrial, transportation, and public sector applications.
