Вопросы и ответы // Ваше местное время
Во время вебинара Вы задали много вопросов, и на некоторые из них были даны ответы в конце прямой трансляции. И здесь мы хотели бы поделиться с вами всеми вашими вопросами и ответами:
Q: Will the PowerPoint presentation used in the webinar be available for download?
A: The presentation will not be available for download, but the webinar recording itself is always uploaded to our YouTube channel.
Q: Latency is crucial for panic buttons. What’s the latency on TRB255?
A: TRB255 combines two LTE categories (CAT-M1 and NB & IoT). CAT-M1 latency is about 10-15ms, while NB & IoT latency is about 1.6-10s. For a panic alert button, CAT-M1 would the more reliable choice.
Q: What is the maximum download speed for CAT4, CAT6, and CAT12 Teltonika Networks devices, assuming ideal carrier aggregation?
A: The maximum theoretical speeds are:
- CAT4 – 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.
- CAT6 – 300 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.
- CAT12 – 600 Mbps download and 150 Mbps upload.
In most cases, our devices are able to reach at least 70% of the maximum theoretical speed. However, these maximum speeds can be achieved only if external conditions are favorable. Such factors include range from the base station, the LTE categories supported by the base station, peak hours and network occupancy, provider, cable type, and more. We regularly perform speed tests for our devices in different locations. To learn more about our speed test, we recommend watching this video and other similar speed test videos on our YouTube channel.
Q: What is MIMO? Do 2x2 MIMO and 4x4 MIMO really improve connectivity speed?
A: MIMO is an acronym for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output. This is a wireless technology that uses multiple transmitters and receivers (which equate additional streams for the signal to go through) to transfer more data at the same time. The more streams you have, the better connectivity you will achieve. Adding MIMO would indeed significantly improve your connectivity speed.
Q: Is the TRB245 gateway operating worldwide? Do you have a list of countries and corresponding TRB245 model?
A: Yes, it operates worldwide. Stating every single country in which it operates would expand the product page too much for a convenient user experience, so to find out which model of TRB245 device will best suit a particular country, please contact our sales team here and they will gladly advise you.
Q: When would you have devices with CAT>=1 with a CAT-M1/NB-IoT fallback functionality available? They would be objectively better for non-battery-powered industrial use cases.
A: CAT-M1/NB-IoT were designed with the goals of lowering power consumption and extending battery life, unlike other CATs, which focus on optimal performance. This means that such a device would need double modules. As Teltonika Networks does not manufacture modules by itself, we currently don’t have an answer on if and when we will have such a device.
Q: Does Teltonika Networks recommend choosing the right LTE Cat technology for a given solution instead of trying to improve its performance with high-gain antennas? What should clients do if optimal connectivity or speed cannot be achieved at a given location?
A: We always recommend choosing the most cost-efficient LTE technology for your solution. In devices using CAT6 and up, you can rely on Carrier Aggregation functionality, which doubles or triples the available speed. This means that in most cases, the LTE category has a more significant impact on your connectivity speed than an antenna, which can get expensive. However, keep in mind that in some locations, your provider may not support higher LTE categories. In such case, only additional antennas can improve connectivity speed.
