Questions & Answers

Is the RUTM52 ESN (Emergency Services Network) approved?

Not at the moment. Reach out to your sales manager to find out about the possibilities of RUTM52 being approved for ENS.

How does installing the device in a vehicle work? Specifically, does it boot up after starting the engine and shut down after turning off the ignition (after a set timeout)?

For vehicles, the device can be dirrecftly powered by the battery or alternator. Delayed power of can be done via ignition sensing: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Ignition_detection_solution

Does the RUTM52 support bonding, and are there any user settings for this? I need it for continuous video streaming.

Yes, when using the service provided by one of our partners https://www.bondixintelligence.com/

Is your team working on adding a Layer 7 firewall to your products?

Currently, adding a Layer 7 firewall is not on our roadmap.

Does the RUTM52 support cellular network providers in Africa, particularly in Nigeria?

Yes, Nigeria bands are supported.

Does the RUTM54 really work in both North and South America

Yes, it‘s certified for both FCC and CE and getting Anatel or other certifications is also possible.

Do the devices have e-mark certification for use in vehicles?

None of the mentioned devices are currently certified for e-mark. As always, please reach out to your sales managers if you have projects where e-mark certification would be required for these devices.

Can the PoE on the OTD500 5G router power a second 5G router, allowing both to run off a single Ethernet connection externally?

Yes, if the second routers supports Active PoE.

Have these devices already been certified for RED 3.3 compliance?

We are actively working on it and will be ready by the time this certification becomes mandatory.

What if the BTS does not have 5G frequency? Do your devices automatically connect to different LTE bands instead of 5G?

If the BTS does not support 5G frequency, the router will automatically switch to a 4G network if one is available in the area.

Could bonding two SIM cards and an eSIM be possible?

Bonding two SIM cards and an eSIM is possible for multi-modem devices like the RUTM52. However, it is not possible for devices such as the OTD500 and RUTM54, as they only have a single modem and can only support one active SIM card at a time.

What is the activation process for eSIM in your modem? Is it available through a portal or a smart app?

The eSIM activation process involves entering the eSIM LPA code or scanning the QR code through the device's WebUI. Once entered, the device will download the eSIM profile from the eSIM provider. Please note that an active internet connection via WiFi, WAN (wired or mobile) is required for this step to complete the eSIM profile download.

Regarding eSIM: There are many eSIM providers. Are there more APNs available in eSIM routers compared to others?

We have an extensive APN database and continuously update it as soon as we are made aware of new APNs being used. Additionally, most eSIM providers that previously sold physical SIMs typically use the same APNs for eSIMs.

Is there any product similar to the OTD500 that will include WiFi functionality in the near future?

Currently, there is no direct product similar to the OTD500 with WiFi functionality. However, you can combine devices such as the RUTX50, RUTM50, RUTM51, RUTM54, and RUTC50 with the PR1ICA70 outdoor enclosure, which is designed specifically for these devices.
