So, today we are incredibly thrilled to present our first switch – TSW100 with PoE technology.
What is PoE?
Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows network switches to transmit both power and data through an Ethernet cable at the same time. With PoE technology, you can deploy network devices into places where there are no power outlets available through a single Ethernet cable. Of course, this allows you to use fewer power adapters. Thus empowers you to have more flexibility during deployment, especially in complex environments. PoE technology also allows using existing network infrastructures for rapid deployment without the need for an electrician. Without being tethered to an electrical outlet, devices can be located wherever they are needed the most and repositioned easily if required. PoE technology is intelligent and designed to protect network equipment from overload. Power comes from a central and universally compatible source, rather than a collection of distributed wall adapters. It can be backed-up by an uninterruptible power supply or controlled to disable or reset devices easily.
With PoE you are able to power up IP cameras, IP telephones, wireless access points, IP TV’s and even computers. PoE technology allows you to power up the devices within 100 meters from the switch. Regular PoE devices are able to provide up to 15,4W power per port, while PoE+ can deliver up to 30W. Our first switch – TSW100, is equipped with five Gigabit Ethernet ports, four of which support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE802.3at PoE standards. It allows to power up the PoE compatible devices with up to 30W power per port. This makes this small, rugged and durable unmanaged switch an ideal choice for a multitude of networking solutions. TSW100 switch does not require any configuration, and it automatically detects the power requirements and supplies the data & power.
