Q:
What about certification in different countries? What certificates are planned in the future?
A:
TRB500 – CE, UKCA, RCM, CB; RUTX50 – CE, UKCA, RCM, CB, E-mark
Q:
Do your routers have EAL4/EAL4+ security certifications?
Q:
Has there been any benchmark testing done against consumer-grade products (Netgear NightHawk)?
A:
With Netgear NightHawk device benchmarking tests were not performed. We did not benchmark our devices with consumer grade devices as we are oriantated towards enterprise grade divices. It goes to the point that we trying to ensure that our devices can have rich functionality list and are secure as possible – speed is not our primary focus.
Q:
What is the maximum throughput R&D received in the lab on these devices?
A:
We’ve achieved 600-1100 Mbps practical data throughputs with these devices in internal testing, although these values greatly depend on signal strength levels, 5G base station load and exact 5G implementation.
Q:
Do the devices are ready for deployment in Australia (Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone AU) and have Network Operator and ACMA approval?
A:
ACMA (RCM) approval in progress, expected to finish at the end of 2022
Q:
Will the RUTX50 get the automotive certification?
A:
yes, E-mark expected to finish at the end of 2022
Q:
When the RUTX50 be available?
A:
It will be ready to be shipped in September, 2022
Q:
When will your 5G routers be available for purchase from your distributors?
A:
As soon as we will ship our first devices
Q:
When there will be a version for the USA?
A:
Approximately in the beginning of 2023
Q:
Can we consider TRB500 as a 5G version of TRB140?
A:
It has also 1 Ethernet port, however, TRB500 is bigger and weights more
Q:
So, the RUTX50 is a RUTX12 but with 5G? Same memory size?
A:
No, RUTX12 has dual LTE modules
Q:
Can you please comment on how our 5G devices and their powerful modules could attract our existing Telecom operating partners (Vodafone, A1 Telekom) or the prospective ones?
A:
Our 5G products follows the same product design philosophy as all our products: secure, reliable & easy to use. Operators care about reliability, security and how easily it is controlled and maintained.
Q:
Is Bluetooth available on the RUTX50?
Q:
Does the RUTX50 support WIFI5 or WIFI6?
Q:
Does the RUTX50 uses the same SOC as the RUTX11?
Q:
Will RUTX50 support passive PoE?
Q:
Is the RUTX50 have a dual modem?
A:
No, it does not have dual module
Q:
Is the RUTX50 can be used for load balancing or bonding?
A:
It can be used for load balancing between different interfaces. Regarding bonding, it can be used with one of our software partners
Q:
Does the RUTX50 consume less than the RUT955 router?
A:
RUTX50 consumes more power than RUT955 because of more powerful CPU and dual WiFi.
Q:
Is the CPU the same in TRB500 and RUTX50?
A:
No it is not, RUTX50 has additional CPU, while TRB500 does not have separate one, it used the one that comes with 5G module.
Q:
Is it possible to extend RAM at least to 512MB or even better to 1024MB to use bonding services?
A:
Unfortunately it is not possible to extend the memory size due to hardware limitations.
Q:
As it is 5G, what about IPv6 support or dual stack support for SIM connection?
A:
IPv6 and dual stack support are available in all RUTOS devices, mobile and wired.
Q:
Have we increased RAM/Flash this time for better operation?
A:
RUTX50 has the same memory configuration as RUTX11, while TRB500 has 4 Gbit RAM and FLASH memory
Q:
Will the 5Gbps ethernet be compatible with my 1Gbps network infrastructure?
A:
RUTX50 and TRB500 have 1Gbps Ethernet ports so they will fit well in your network infrastructure
Q:
What chipset is used? TRB 500 is IP30, will the performance hamper if the device is placed inside an IP67 or IP68 case?
A:
It will, if it will be placed inside a metal casing. However, all situations are different and it should be tested.
Q:
Is the encryption speed of the RUTX50 similar to the RUTX11's one when using IPSEC or Wireguard
Q:
Please clarify the antenna arrangement for RUTX50: 2xMIMO or 4xMIMO or SISO?
A:
For WiFi it is 2xMIMO, for mobile it is 4xMIMO.
Q:
I would like to ask how it is with antennas. Is an outdoor one required for 5G?
A:
There is no such requirement, you can use an outdoor antenna if needed.
Q:
What will be my limitations if I have to use the RUTX50 with a 2x2 antenna? Can I turn off two antenna connectors? Should I use coax terminators for the unused connectors?
A:
You can turn off two antenna connectors, however, the 5G module manufacturer states that you should use all antennas, since all antennas are MAIN.
Q:
Is it possible to separate the two Wi-Fi antennas with an extension cable to increase the coverage? Or have the two antennas be near to each other to work?
A:
It is possible, however, it seems that it will not affect the WiFi signal or coverage, unless you are willing to avoid walls etc.
Q:
Are there any plans to power Teltonika devices with active PoE (Teltonika PoE Switches)?
A:
There are no such plans for now
Q:
Will there be other TRB5... with Inputs and Outputs?
A:
There are no such plans for now
Q:
Will there be any future support for 5G ATSSS (Access Traffic Steering, Switching & Splitting) please?
A:
We have plans to do the analysis.
Q:
Why have you chosen passive PoE (and only 1 port) instead of the active one that complies with standards? Is it mainly to reduce the cost of the device?
A:
We have not seen enough demand for active PoE. We encourage our clients to contact us, describe the use-case and initiate the improvements.
