HOW TO AVOID CVE-XXXX VULNERABILITY IN TELTONIKA NETWORKS DEVICES

Recently, a new CVE-XXXX vulnerability was discovered, showcasing that our devices with SIM cards that support incoming SMS messages can be prone to cyber-attacks. Any devices that don’t have SIM cards or SMS support are not affected.

We’re happy to announce that we already solved this issue with a recent update to our RutOS software (version 7.02), and our future devices will come with that security update already installed. Nonetheless, the vulnerability in question remains relevant to those whose router’s SIM cards support incoming SMS messages.

We encourage all our clients to update devices’ firmware to the newest version as a precaution, to strengthen the security and avoid the possibility of cyber-attacks. If your devices don’t have a public IP address, the update can still be done remotely via our Remote Management System (RMS).

We want to emphasize that if your devices’ SIM cards don’t support incoming SMS, this vulnerability doesn’t concern you.
