There’s a plethora of instances when a reliable connectivity device with remote management feature is all you need for a successfully operating network solution. Besides, we all know there’s no such thing as too fast or too powerful when it comes to connectivity devices.
With this in mind, let’s explore the marvellous features of the TRB160 IoT gateway!
Fast but not so furious
The new IoT gateway is equipped with 4G LTE Cat 6 and carrier aggregation. What does it mean, you may ask? Well, it means that the TRB160 can reach cellular speeds of up to 300 Mbps!
Carrier aggregation is perfect for improving connectivity. This technology is used to increase data rates by combining multiple carrier frequencies into a single data channel. This allows mobile devices to use more bandwidth, achieve faster Internet speeds, and improve network capacity and efficiency.
4G LTE Cat 6 and carrier aggregation make the TRB160 one of the fastest gateways in our portfolio, second only to the TRB500 5G gateway. For reference, it is twice as fast as its older brother, the TRB140, can reach cellular speeds of up to 150 Mbps with 4G LTE Cat 4.
The TRB160 is great for any use case where you need to connect a single device and provide fast and reliable connectivity.
The perfect example of the lightning speed provided by the TRB160 IoT gateway is the remote management of interactive kiosks. These kiosks use high-resolution media files, such as 4K for display, requiring a fast and powerful connectivity device. Not only does our new Cat 6 gateway deliver, but it also opens the door for remote management capabilities.
Compatibility with Teltonika’s Remote Management System (RMS) allows access to this Cat 6 gateway and all end devices remotely, from anywhere. This enables your engineers to fix connectivity disruptions and maintain remote monitoring with just a few clicks!

Three times power’s the charm
The TRB160 can be powered via three different power connectors, including 4-pin, RJ45, and USB 3.0, all of which can work as power failsafes. Basically, it’s a system designed to maintain safe operations in the event of a power failure.
USB 3.0 allows for charging the gateway while also supporting data communication.
Gigabit Ethernet
Our IoT gateway is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port, providing Gigabit Ethernet communication as the main Internet source. This provides stable and high-speed connectivity supporting data transfer rates of up to 1 Gbps.
This reliability and speed are especially beneficial for activities that require high bandwidth, such as streaming high-definition videos or large file transfers.
Security
You can’t be too secure when it comes to networking devices! That’s why this Cat 6 gateway is equipped with a wide range of VPN service support, access control, and firewall. As they say, it’s better to be safe than sorry, and trust us – you won’t be sorry choosing the TRB160!
Protocols
The TRB160 supports many M2M protocols, such as OPC UA, Modbus, Data to Server, MQTT, DNP3, and DLMS. This allows this IoT gateway to facilitate seamless communication and data exchange between industrial applications, ensuring efficient and reliable integration across diverse systems.
Compactness
Well, it’s only fair that so many great qualities take up a tiny bit more space, making the TRB160 slightly larger than TRB140, which is sized at 74.5 x 25 x 64.4 mm.
However, the TRB160 IoT gateway still stands out as a small and compact connectivity device. Sized at only 83 x 25 x 74.2 mm, this Cat 6 gateway is perfect for small and narrow spaces, allowing it to be placed in networking solutions that cannot fit a larger device.
