During the webinar, You've asked a lot of questions, and some of them were answered at the end of the livestream. And here we would like to share with you all your questions and answers:
Q: My current switch is the Moxa EDS-2005. Could I use the TSW304 switch to replace it?
A: Yes. If you're looking for a simple and compact industrial Ethernet connection, the Moxa EDS-2005 switch can definitely be replaced with the TSW304. While Moxa offers two versions of EDS switches with different operating temperatures and pricing, our TSW304 switch is designed to be adaptable in any industrial environment and can be powered by VDC or VC, so it's cost-effective and easy to use.
Q: Is the TSW304 a managed or unmanaged switch?
A: The TSW304 is an unmanaged Ethernet switch.
Q: How can the TSW304 be powered?
A: TSW304 has a 2-pin power socket and can be powered by both VDC and VC. Its input voltage range is 7-57 VDC / 9-40 VAC.
Q: Will the TSW304 switch support only 1Gbps transmission or can it be backward compatible with 10/100Mbps also?
A: The TSW304 is also backward compatible with 10/100Mbps
Q: Are there any plans for the TSW304 to have PoE support?
Q: What about fiber connectivity? Does the TSW304 have SFP?
A: No, the TSW304 doesn't have SFP.
Q: What does the term Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) mean?
A: MTBF means the arithmetic (average) time between system failures. The TSW304 is our newest device, so more time is needed for proper MTBF testing.
Please keep in mind that the average MTBF of most Teltonika Networks devices is 116.667 hours.
Q: Are TSW2** series switches managed or unmanaged?
A: The TSW2** are unmanaged Ethernet switches.
Q: What would be the standard product warranty of the TSW304?
A: We guarantee a 24-month warranty period for all of our devices. However, this warranty can be extended, so please get in touch with your sales manager for more detailed information.
Q: Will Teltonika Networks release 10 and 16-port switches (without PoE function)?
A: At this moment in time – no. We're currently eager to design switches with 24 ports rather than 10 or 16.
Q: Does the VAC installation require an electrician to install this switch?
A: Yes, we do recommend having professional assistance when installing to ensure security.
Q: Are you planning to have built-in Din rail switches with more than four ports?
A: Yes, we're planning to. Since we always share our news and the latest updates in our newsletters, we recommend subscribing to them here.
Q: Can we expect 24-port SFP switches in the future?
A: Yes. We're working on a 24-port rack-mount switch.
