Cybersecurity is a hot topic, with its market continuing to exceed its growth yearly. But it isn’t just a buzzword to attract the eyes of cybersecurity engineers, developers, or programmers. It’s a long-term commitment to a process that software development companies must ensure, maintaining the highest security standards and responding quickly to each problem or threat as they arise.

Teltonika Networks develops its own software, including its Remote Management System (RMS), RutOS, and WitchOS. Given this, it comes as no surprise that our R&D and cybersecurity engineers take a great deal of responsibility for ensuring device and network protection, performing regular safety tests, and releasing periodic firmware updates. After all, the networking solutions we help establish circle around IoT, where everything is interconnected.

However, this was recently taken to another level. Teltonika Networks has become an official member of the CVE programme community and is now a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA), performing CVE ID assignments. This is a step towards ensuring smoother CVE creation, registration, and publication processes.

WHAT ARE CVEs AND THE CVE PROGRAMME?

As one might expect, CVEs and the CVE programme are intertwined with one another. With CVEs standing for common vulnerabilities and exposures, a programme dedicated to them seeks to identify and record vulnerabilities in any software, firmware, service components, and hardware, including the ones empowering networking solutions. This programme is inseparable from cybersecurity and cybersecurity services that attempt to resolve arising issues.

Involvement in the CVE programme holds great significance for us, as Deividas Vyšniauskas, our Head of Security, states: “Joining the CVE programme community represents a significant advancement for Teltonika Networks, reinforcing our commitment to being transparent and efficient with any issues concerning our devices and their supported network’s protection.”

AT THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE’S SAFETY

Being a part of the CVE programme community, the vulnerabilities affecting Teltonika Networks enabled networking solutions will receive greater reaction time and resolution than before. This is because all CNAs, just like Teltonika Networks, can directly assign CVE identifiers to vulnerabilities in their products, speeding up the process revolving around security issues.

This collaborative approach ensures that we stay at the forefront of cybersecurity advancements, continually elevating the security and quality of the networking solutions we empower.

Ensuring the security of your network has always been one of the key priorities at Teltonika Networks. But with this achievement, we stand even more resolute to commit to bringing quicker and pre-emptive security measures to your networking solutions.
