THE TELTONIKA NETWORKS INDUSTRIAL NETWORK SWITCH REVOLUTION
#2023, #2024, #switches, #pricing, #tsw
Teltonika Networks is cutting the average price of its industrial network switches by an average of 30% and will continue to take steps to ensure the most affordable pricing available for industrial-grade network switches moving forward. Read on to learn why it’s doing so, and what this revolution means to you and your networking solutions.
“Revolution” is a strong word, but we definitely believe it is the right word for our exciting new approach to the industrial switch market.
When Teltonika Networks launched its first network switches in 2020, it entered a large market with established competitors and expected price points. Since then, each new addition to our industrial switch product line offered new value to networking solutions worldwide.
At the same time, we’ve been keeping a very close eye on the market and our competitors, reviewing the costs of manufacturing our network switches, and looking for opportunities to not simply remain part of the market, but become its once and future leader.
Today, Teltonika Networks takes its first big step towards market leadership, and we’re very excited to tell you all about it.
The most affordable industrial network switches on the market. Full stop.
Starting in January 2024, Teltonika Networks is cutting the average price of its network switches by an average of 30%.
That’s right. 30%.
Our goal with this price reduction is clear and simple: to provide our partners and networking solutions in the market with the best value for money possible by offering industrial-grade network switches for the most affordable pricing available.
Following the recent launch of our first-ever managed switches, the TSW202 and TSW212, Teltonika Networks now believes its switch portfolio to be of sufficient size for rapid expansion and growth in this product segment, which we plan to achieve by implementing more assertive pricing while maintaining the products’ ease of use and integration and top-quality and reliability, adhering to the highest European standards.
Teltonika Networks Head of Sales, Vytautas Sventickas, is very excited about this change, saying that “as demand for our industrial network switches is rapidly growing, we know that it’s crucial to make them scalable to all our existing and future partners. Therefore, this new pricing strategy is being implemented to make our devices affordable to all Teltonika Networks partners and clients and guarantee the best value in the market, hands down.”
Maximising value: the TSW industrial network switch series
The TSW series currently has 8 unmanaged network switches, consisting of 3 industrial PoE+ switches and 5 industrial Ethernet switches. It also has 2 managed switches. Many great features are shared among all of them, and features unique to individual devices offer different value to your networking solutions.
Creating your IoT network can be a complex task, so ensuring our industrial switches are simple to slot in and get going is paramount. As such, all Teltonika Networks switches are plug and play products, meaning that no additional configuration is needed to use them.
Like all of our products, the TSW series was designed with easy installation in mind. They all feature extra compact size, DIN rail mounting options, a wide input voltage range, and plenty of RJ45 Ethernet ports for high-bandwidth data throughput.
Of course, these network switches are industrial and were engineered for fitting environments. Sturdy aluminium housing and resistance to vibrations, humidity ranging from 10% to 90% (non-condensing), and extreme temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C are the baseline standard. If you can imagine an industrial environment worth deploying a network switch in, any TSW device can take it on without breaking a sweat.
A brave, managed new world
Just last month, Teltonika Networks launched its two, first-ever managed switches: the TSW202 and TSW212. These managed switches support key industrial protocols such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP, and MRP, and run on our own custom operating system tailored for switches: WitchOS.
Both devices do so by integrating both Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, including loop protection, VLAN support, and static IPv4 and IPv6 routing. They feature 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 SFP ports, and up to 20 Gbps of total bandwidth. That’s right – 20!
The difference between these managed switches is that the TSW202 has PoE+ capabilities, with each of its 8 Ethernet ports providing 30 W of power. Whether you need an 8-port PoE+ switch or not, either device would provide your solution with advanced network control capabilities and guarantee seamless connectivity support.
Absolute power (over Ethernet)
When creating your networking solution, the fewer cables needed – the better. The TSW portfolio has 3 different unmanaged PoE+ switches that centralise the power supply of your solution and enhance the efficiency of its installation.
These PoE+ switches also differ in their PoE+ power budget. As power source equipment, the TSW101 provides up to 60 W total, the TSW100 provides up to 120 W total, and the TSW200 provides up to 240 W total. The aforementioned managed PoE switch, the TSW202, also provides up to 240 W total.
As you can probably tell, the TSW200 is the one built for higher performance. This 8-port PoE+ switch also features 2 SFP ports for long-range fibre optic communication, speeds of up to 1000 Mbps, and up to 20 Gbps of total bandwidth.
If your networking solution needs an industrial PoE+ switch but has no use for this high performance, both the TSW101 and TSW100 feature 5 RJ45 Ethernet ports with speeds of up to 1000 Mbps and offer up to 10 Gbps of total bandwidth.
But the TSW101 PoE+ switch has one additional trick up its aluminium sleeve: its power supply voltage range of 9-30 VDC was designed to match automotive output, making it a perfect choice for in-vehicle connectivity.
All the Ethernet, without the power over part
Many networking solutions don’t need power over Ethernet, and the TSW series has 5 unmanaged Ethernet switches to choose from in this category.
Let’s start small. The smallest, in fact, with the TSW304 Ethernet switch. Measuring 102 x 25 x 81.5 mm and weighing only 210 grammes, this unmanaged switch was designed to fit in just about any industrial setup imaginable and is both the tiniest switch in the TSW series and the tiniest product in the entire Teltonika Networks portfolio. It also comes with 4 RJ45 ports with speeds of up to 1000 Mbps and offers up to 8 Gbps of total bandwidth.
Another way to save up space is to enhance scalability. The TSW114 Ethernet switch achieves this by having front-facing ports, meaning all wires can be plugged into one side of the device. This unmanaged switch features 5 RJ45 ports with speeds of up to 1000 Mbps and offers up to 10 Gbps of total bandwidth.
Sometimes, space isn’t the most important issue – budget is. When your networking solution requires just the basics an industrial switch needs to offer, the TSW010 Ethernet switch is the most affordable way to extend industrial network connectivity. This unmanaged switch has 5 RJ45 ports with speeds of up to 100 Mbps and offers up to 1 Gbps of total bandwidth.
When your solution needs a higher-performance switch, the TSW210 offers the same interfaces, speed, and bandwidth as the TSW200 8-port PoE+ switch – just without PoE capabilities. Similarly, the TSW110 is like the TSW100 in those same aspects and without PoE.
The revolution begins
