This update isn’t just about adding new tools – it’s about refining the ones you rely on daily, making them more intuitive, secure, and efficient. So, what’s in store this time? Let’s take a look!
The latest enhancements you’ve been waiting for
Real-time data for wireless usage tracking

Keeping a close eye on your wireless data usage is now easier than ever. With the new real-time data feature, you can access a graphical representation of traffic and history for your wireless interfaces.
This enhancement provides clear, visual insights into your data consumption, helping you optimise your IoT solutions and ensure seamless connectivity.
What’s in it for you? Whether you need to monitor usage trends or analyse network performance, this feature gives you the tools to stay in control!
Bidirectional Forwarding Detection protocol for enhanced stability
Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) is designed to detect faults in bidirectional paths between two forwarding engines. It monitors interfaces, data links, and even the forwarding engines themselves, ensuring rapid failure detection with very low latency.
This protocol improves network reliability, making IoT solutions more resilient to disruptions and enabling faster recovery.
Event Juggler for advanced automation
The new Event Juggler feature enhances automation in IoT solutions by executing predefined actions based on specific device events. This powerful application reacts to system triggers, allowing for more flexible and efficient event management.
By replacing the previous Events Reporting and I/O Juggler features, it adds new functionalities such as defining complex event-action pairs and enabling your devices to respond dynamically to many operational scenarios, which gives you greater control over device behaviour and response mechanisms.
Optimised Modbus for data storage and management
The new Data Collect on Data Change mode allows you to store Modbus data only when a change is detected, reducing unnecessary entries in the database. This optimised approach minimises storage usage while ensuring that only relevant data is logged, improving efficiency for your IoT solutions.
With the latest update, you can now configure the maximum size and storage location of the Modbus database. This flexibility enables better resource management, allowing you to allocate storage based on system needs. Whether optimising space on internal memory or directing data to external storage, this feature gives you greater control over data handling.
Enhanced SMS Utilities for better control
From now on, SMS Utilities support responses for executed non-status rules. This means that whenever a command is sent, you can receive a confirmation or relevant feedback, improving reliability and control over remote actions in your IoT solutions.
Now, when an SMS Utilities status rule includes I/O pin statuses, the response can return custom-defined names and states if configured. This makes interpreting device feedback clearer and more intuitive, allowing for a more personalised and efficient remote management experience.
Expanded ZeroTier support for private networking
Enhanced privacy settings define ZeroTier planet server support, allowing you to host your own private ZeroTier VPN server. This enhancement provides greater control over network infrastructure, improving security and flexibility. By enabling a self-hosted VPN environment, it ensures a more customised and resilient networking experience.
Improved TR-069 functionality with VPN support
The latest update extends TR-069 remote management capabilities by adding compatibility with VPN connections. Now, devices connected via VPN can execute available actions through a TR-069 server, ensuring seamless remote configuration and control. This enhancement improves flexibility for IoT solutions, simplifying device management in complex networking environments.
UI/UX updates: tailored for effortless navigation
Added DHCP lease counter for better IP management
The DHCP server WebUI page now features a DHCP lease counter, providing real-time insights into available IP addresses. This enhancement allows users to monitor address allocation more effectively and take action when the pool is running low. With clearer data representation, managing IoT solutions becomes more intuitive and efficient.
Improved firewall WebUI structure
A well-organised interface is key to efficient network management, and this update enhances the firewall WebUI for a more intuitive experience.
The firewall WebUI has been reorganised with a refined menu structure, splitting certain functions for better clarity. This visual update enhances navigation and usability while keeping all functionalities unchanged.
Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) relocation for better organisation

To enhance usability and streamline configuration, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) has been repositioned within the interface.
A logical menu structure ensures seamless configuration, and the VRF setting has been moved under the Routing menu, aligning it more logically within the interface.
This adjustment improves navigation and ensures a more structured menu layout.
Mode unification for streamlined user experience
The latest update removes the basic and advanced modes, merging them into a single, unified interface for a smoother UI experience. This eliminates the need to switch modes for advanced configuration while keeping all functionalities accessible in one place. By simplifying navigation and reducing complexity, this enhancement makes managing IoT solutions more intuitive and efficient.
Minimising risks, maximising protection: security updates
HTTPS for automatic redirection

The HTTP redirect is now enabled by default for RUTX-series devices. When users attempt to access a device via HTTP, they will be automatically redirected to HTTPS, ensuring a secure and encrypted connection by default.
Added SSL & EoIP VPN support
With SSL VPN support, you can expand VPN compatibility with Cisco, Fortigate, and Palo Alto devices.
This addition, requested by our partner to meet specific requirements, enhances integration possibilities and provides more flexibility for secure remote access.
We’ve also added the EoIP VPN support, a tunnelling protocol originally developed by MikroTik. Primarily used for seamless integration with MikroTik EoIP, this addition is perfect for enhancing compatibility and providing more flexibility in network configurations.
Increased security with 802.1X server & client support
Security is a key element in all IoT solutions. Keeping this in mind, we’d like to introduce you to the 802.1X server support, allowing devices to act as an authentication server for network access control. This feature adds an extra layer of security particularly beneficial in industrial environments, where strict access management is crucial.
In addition, 802.1X client support has been added, enabling devices to authenticate with 802.1X-protected networks. This ensures better access control and security, making it easier to integrate devices into managed network infrastructures. 802.1X client support is now available on RUT2, TRB2, RUT9, and RUT3-series devices, alongside the RUTX14 and OTD140.
Embedded kernel updates for enhanced performance
Leading in reliability and functionality starts at the foundation. We've upgraded kernel versions across multiple devices to enhance performance, security, and compatibility with the latest technologies, ensuring a smoother and more resilient experience.
TRB2, TRB1, and TCR1-series devices, along with the RUT300 and RUT360, have been upgraded to kernel version 5.4.289, ensuring better stability and security enhancements for these devices.
Meanwhile, RUTX and RUTM-series devices, as well as the OTD500, and TAP200, now run on kernel version 5.10.233, bringing optimised performance, improved hardware support, and long-term reliability.
Lastly, TRB2M, RUT2, RUT9, and DAP-series connectivity devices, together with the OTD140, RUT301, RUT361, RUTX14, and TAP100, have been updated to kernel version 5.15.176, delivering the latest improvements in security, efficiency, and system responsiveness.
